Author Guidelines
GENERAL PROVISIONS
Rules for the authors of the journal “MIR (Modernization. Innovation. Research)” are based on the “Cases White Paper on Promotion Integrity in Scientific Journal Publications, 2012 Update”, presented on the resources of the Association of Science Editors and Publishers (ASEP).
The journal “MIR (Modernization. Innovation. Research)” accepts for publication original articles of the theoretical and the empirical nature in all areas of economic science. Theses and reviews are not accepted in the journal.
The journal accepts materials from graduate students, applicants, doctoral students, specialists and experts in this field. One author may have maximum one article being published in one issue of the journal. The author's team of the article cannot be more than 5 people. After the acceptance of the manuscript by the editors, the composition of the authors of the article may not be changed (increased, reduced)! (See Journal Authors).
All Authors when submitting a manuscript to the journal:
- they should guarantee that the submitted manuscript is an original work and all copyrights on it belong to him / her;
- they should disclose in their manuscript any financial or any other existing conflict of interest that might be perceived to influence the results or interpretation of their manuscript;
- there are responsible for the selection and accuracy of the facts, quotations, statistical and sociological data, dates, proper names, geographical names and other information;
- there are agree to the terms and conditions of the enclosed Copyright agreement (public offer). The acceptance of the Agreement on the part of the Publisher is the registration of the Manuscript in the Publisher's Journal with the assignment of the unique number. This number is sent to the Author at the contact E-mail address.
The manuscript of the article should be submitted to the editorial office electronically (in Microsoft Word format with extensions *.doc or *.docx). Please use the form on our website to submit your article and attach the necessary documents.
Please note that the following documents are required:
- Consent to the processing of personal data – scanned copies in JPEG format (if you have an original copy of the document, please bring it to the editorial office);
- Completed Application to the Copyright agreement (public offer) for publication in the journal – scanned copies in JPEG format;
- Checklist form confirming compliance with journal requirements – a scanned copy with the signature of the author;
- Illustrative materials for the article (figures, graphs, diagrams, tables, etc.) are provided in the form of separate files, saved in the format of the program in which they were created.
To publish a scientific article, the author(s) should submit a manuscript and other mandatory documents in exact accordance with the requirements of the journal.
All articles are checked for plagiarism! The journal uses native Russian-language plagiarism detection software Antiplagiat to screen the submissions. If plagiarism is identified, the COPE guidelines on plagiarism will be adhered.
Decisions on the publication of articles are made on the basis of the “double-blind peer-review”. This means that during the process of reviewing the article personal data of reviewers and authors shall be held confidential. Each article is reviewed by two acknowledged experts in the subject matter. These terms apply to all publications except in the category “Have an opinion” which is formed by invitations and decisions of Editorial Board.
Articles are published in the journal after being approved by the reviewers and the Editorial Board.
A certificate of acceptance of an article for publication can be issued at the request of the author, after the final approval of the article by the Editorial Board!
The process of submitting and reviewing articles, the procedure for reviewing the decisions of editors / reviewers, editorial actions in case of plagiarism, fabrication or falsification of data and correcting errors and Retraction of articles you can see in Interaction between Journal and Authors.
Articles are published free of charge. The journal does not charge the authors for preparing the article for publication, placing it, or printing materials.
Journal Metrics:
- Time from submission of the article to the final decision – from 120 days;
- Time from acceptance of the article to readiness for publication – from 90 days;
- Rejected manuscripts – 80%.
No fast track publication service is available.
All articles of the journal are publicly available (See Open Access Policy).
The Editorial Board reserves the right to:
- reject articles that do not conform to the journal’s publishing rules;
- does not enter into correspondence with the authors of rejected articles;
- edit submitted texts;
- the publication of the articles does not always mean consent of the Editorial Board with the author’s point of view (with an aim of facilitation a discussion on the topic).

MANUSCRIPT PREPARATION RULES
The Editors request authors of the manuscripts to submit them only after carefully editing. All the authors’ ideas should be clearly and consistently structured.
Editors of the scientific and practical journal “MIR (Modernization. Innovation. Research)” request Authors to follow the following manuscript preparation rules.
VOLUME OF THE MANUSCRIPT
The recommended volume of the manuscript is:
- Original scientific article – 30–45 typewritten pages (45,000–65,000 characters with spaces);
- Review article – 40–55 typewritten pages (60,000–80,000 characters with spaces).
The volume of each incoming manuscript is monitored by the Editors.
ACCEPTED FORMAT FOR MANUSCRIPTS
The manuscript is to be provided in Microsoft Word or in RTF formats (*.doc and *.docx).
All margins should be 2.0 cm wide; justified alignment.
Use font size 14, one-and-a-half line spacing, and a one space only between two words. Paragraphs are automatically indented by 1.25 cm (without using tabs or spaces); the spacing between paragraphs should be regular. The pages of the text should be numbered end-to-end.
There should be no spacing before a punctuation mark, and only a single space after a punctuation mark.
Citations are indicated by the «…» marks, in case of a double quotation (quote inside a quote), use the „…“ marks.
Not allowed:
- two or more spaces;
- underlining or usage of a different font color;
- beginning of the paragraph by using spaces;
- hyphenation in the text;
- the letter “ё” of Russian alphabet in the text.
Tables and figures should be placed in the text of the article.

THE STRUCTURE OF ARTICLE
The journal uses a following order of elements of article (See Description of the structure of the manuscript):
- Code of UDC and a code of JEL, Specialty of the Higher Attestation Commission;
- Full Names of Authors (in English and Russian);
- Information about the Authors (in English and Russian);
- Title of the article (in Russian and English);
- Abstract – should be structured and include sections: Purpose, Methods, Results, Conclusions and Relevance (in English and Russian);
- Keywords (in English and Russian);
- Acknowledgments (in English and Russian);
- Conflict of Interest (in English and Russian);
- Text of the article – should be structured and include sections: Introduction, Literature Review, Materials and methods, Results, Conclusions and Relevance;
- References;
- Contribution of Authors (in English and Russian).

ACCEPTED FORMAT FOR TABLES AND FIGURES
Tables and figures are placed in the text. The text should contain reference to them. Tables and figures are numbered (in Arabic numerals) in the order of their mentioning in the text.
Each table and figure should have a number and a title. The dot after the title is not used. All tables and figures must have a source reference.
All titles and sources of tables and figures are provided in Russian and English.
Tables and figures can be inserted by means of the editors compatible with Microsoft Word. All illustration (tables, figures, diagrams, etc.) should be of high quality. We do request authors to submit tables and figures in a separate file.
It is acceptable to use photos, screenshots and other not-drawn illustrations. Additionally they should be submitted, as separate files in the format *.jpeg, *.bmp, *.gif (*.doc and *.docx – in case of additional commentaries or marks on the images), the name of which should correspond to the figure’s number within the text. In the description of the file, you must specify the title of this illustration separately.
Scanned images are not allowed.
The quality of any illustrations in the manuscript should be at least 300 dpi.

ACCEPTED FORMAT FOR FORMULAS
Formulas should be typed in the Microsoft Equation formula editing tool. Latin letters are typed in italics, Greek and Russian letters in normal font.
Formulas are numbered and indicated in parentheses. It is necessary to number only those formulas and equations that are referenced in the following text.
CITATION STYLE
The journal “MIR (Modernization. Innovation. Research)”adopted the Vancouver citation style, which uses a “numerical-end-note” approach. Each piece of work which is cited in your text should have a unique number, assigned in the order of citation.
- The source is indicated in the text are given in Arabic numerals in square brackets. If there are several objects of such reference, then they are combined into one complex reference, and source numbers are divided by a comma: [1, 5, 8-10]. The page is indicated inside the brackets, separated by a comma and a space after the source number: [5, p. 12].
- All the sources in the list of References are listed in the order in which they are mentioned in the text.
ACCEPTED FORMAT FOR LIST OF REFERENCES
The list of References is placed after the main text of the article.
For an original scientific article we recommend using at least 25–30 sources, and at least 50–80 for a scientific review. References should contain: at least 30% of foreign sources; at least 50% of the works published in the last 3 years. The list of References includes only peer-reviewed sources (articles from scientific journals and monographs), which are mentioned in the text of the article. Self-citation is not allowed in the list of References! (See Description of the structure of the manuscript).
All the sources are listed in order of citation. The numbering of entries in the list of References is continuous (regardless of the source language).
Sources are designed in accordance with the Vancouver style and GOST R 7.0.7-2021.
The reference to the source should indicate:
- the names of all authors;
- article title;
- the name of the journal;
- year of publication, volume (issue), number, pages of publication (the total number of pages for the book);
- unique digital identifier of the publication – DOI (digital object identifier), EDN (eLIBRARY Document Number, for Russian sources), indicated in the format of Internet links;
- URL – the address of access to publication on the Internet (in the absence of DOI and EDN); the date of access must be indicated.
All references must be verified, the output data checked on the official website of the journals and / or publishers.
References to articles accepted for publication but not yet published should be marked with the words "in press". The authors must obtain written permission to refer to such documents and to confirm that they are accepted for publication. Information from an unpublished source should be marked with the words "unpublished data / documents", the authors should also receive written confirmation for the use of such materials. If these requirements are not met, unpublished sources are not included in the list of references!
The description of the source should have an indication of the language of the work at its end: (in Russ.), (In Eng.).

FOOTNOTES
Footnotes are numbered in Arabic numerals and placed on a page-by-page basis. The footnotes contain the necessary comments and notes of the authors, as well as sources not included in the List of References (self-citation, statistics, standards, analytical reports, non-scientific publications, Internet sources, etc.). These sources should be designed in the same way as the sources in the List of References. For all Internet sources, the date of access must be indicated.

ABBREVIATIONS
Standard abbreviations are used – the names of measures, physical, chemical and mathematical variables and terms, etc. All abbreviations should be explained (except for a widely used). Name of institutions at the first mention in text are given in full. Then usual abbreviation is given in brackets. It is then used when the names are used repeatedly.
