PIGSTRY MODERNIZATION AS A WAY TO PROVIDE FOR RUSSIA FOODSTUFF INDEPENDENCE

Abstract

Pigstry is most promising livestock farming branch. Its modernization may decisively help solving Russia foodstuff independence problem. At present, Russian meat and meat foodstuff producers use mainly imported pig meat owing to the fact that the domestic one is too fatty and costly
compared to that grown and prepared in pigstry leading countries. Most of Russian agricultural companies use obsolete technologies. Among few Russian companies who operate on the basis of most advanced pigstry technologies is Mortadel Ltd. Activities of its Selection and Genetics Center (SGC) spread to all relative production stages from making own fodder to production of delicatessen. The pigs are grown by farmers under control and with the help of SGC. Business approach used by this company is many dozen years ahead of those used all over the world and
presents the way of solving the painful Russian farmer economy problem.
